....was an eye-opening experience.
Flying into Las Vegas is amazing. You glide in over the desert into this amazing city of lights. Our first "jackpot" was that Hertz had run out of economy cars. We were upgraded at no charge to a Mustang convertible. Since our condo would not be ready for us for another 4 hours, we took a ride to Hoover dam and around the Lake Meade area before heading to the host hotel for early registration.
From 8 am until 4 pm every day there were convention seminars regarding everything from "Hard Card Credentials" to "Risk Management" presented by SCCA employees and officers. Award luncheons honored region achievement, solo, rally and rally cross competitors and events, and race competitors, workers, volunteers and events. The Mid South Region was named as one of the "50 year regions."
Most of my time was spent with Mid Div representatives regarding our March race. One of the highlights of the convention was meeting the other REs of the Mid West division. I was able to attend a few Solo seminars, too. Lisa attended risk management, membership, and media seminars.
Check out http://www.scca.com for news reports from the convention and photos. We are in one of the photos. See if you can spot us!
